Shopping in and around
Oxford
Oxford has most well-known high street names and department stores
within walking distance of Keble College along the main shopping
streets - Queen Street, Cornmarket Street, High Street and Magdalen
Street - and in the Westgate and Clarendon Centre indoor malls.
The Covered Market (off High Street/Market Street) created in 1772
shouldn't be missed. Originally designed to move 'messy market
stalls' away from the streets of Oxford, today it houses an
interesting collection of small independent shops selling everything
from handmade clothing and gifts to traditional Oxford sausages and
antiquarian books.
If Designer shopping is your
thing, Bicester Village
has over 120 luxury outlet boutiques, and is only 25 minutes drive
to the north east of the city.
There are many excellent pubs
and restaurants within walking distance of Keble College. Details of
which can be found on the Social Events
page. |
